Just a tip don't reset your gearbox adaptions at all. See my thread regarding it as pressing that button cost me just under 4k. The difference between theory and reality is that in theory it will work.

depends if you want a more friendly interface..the dash readout is adequate but with the forthcoming ipad BT upgrade the interface will be even better..

IMHO - not really - at least not yet..... There's a functionality list here - As Stan said, the interface is pretty on the iPhone/iPad, but it does exactly the same thing (at the moment) - I'm sure there is more potential with the BT interface, but it's not there yet

I've just brought the BT version from Island 4X4, should be arriving tomorrow, cant wait to have a play. My pixels are "temperamental" which is why I got the BT version plus it looks easier (I hope).

First will be to stop the steering wheel moving then will investigate the mild "juddering" from the engine at about 2000 revs that's just started. Thinking an injector as it does it when reved up while stationary, hopefully IID tool will point me in the right direction Idea

pls don't shoot the messenger its nothing personal reason i asked if it " messes up the ecu " is last summer the dreaded " airsusp in active"message came on my screen and as you do unknowingly i took it to the stealership,,
and after 1 hour waiting a technician came out armed to the teeth with an all singing all dancing laptop with all the latest software that could do about anything but tell you what's happening in area 51,anyway he plugged in this laptop and everything was available to him at the touch of a button,he activated my automatic door lock,lights go off so many seconds after parking up,coded everything to my key,and also found the fault on the compressor,
turns out it wasn't building enough pressure,the old rubber piston was worn and the unit needed a dry up and so on,as i got talking he asked if i had tampered with the ecu,asked what he meant, he said by the use of a now common little tool called an iid tool,i was taken back,i don't own one so i said not guilty why,after plugging the laptop into the port he was able to tell me how many times the previous owner or garage i bought the ff from had the same fault cleared and apparently after using the iid tool so many times at clearing the fault the ecu goes into a lock mode,locking out the suspension,thus why you don't get the little orange light at the control button near the analogue clock,
in his own way he was trying to make me see his reasoning he basically slatted the iid tool saying why would he as a 14 year experienced tech along with countless others have to buy a £3000 laptop designed solely around the diagnostic of land rovers and range rovers if all he had to do was buy a £280 iid tool...
seeing that i don't own an iid tool it was for that reason why i asked about the messing of the ecu..but contrary to what he said most on here with years of dealing with the l322 swear by it,iv'e even seen site sponsors talk about how good they are..im just trying to reason the whole idea before investing in one,trying to cover all angles before hand... To add a counter story to that , Land Rover them selves have bean known to use IID tools . At motor shows they use them to adjust the suspension without having to turn the engines on or plug in the big lap tops to do it . 2008 MY Supercharged

In my case, I like the BT option on tablet/smartphone, you can stand outside your RR to make EAS adjustments/modifications 2006 Range Rover HSE 4.4L Jag Engine/ Buckingham Blue

As Axle mentioned (thank you!), the IIDTool has been used by LR.
The IIDTool is a tool - and tools need to be used correctly. There is a potential for mis-use, but as for the IIDTool itself, it does things exactly as the dealer's very expensive diagnostic system does. And there is very little an IIDTool cannot do that a dealer can - there are also some things that an IIDTool can do that a dealer can't. Yes, these days GBP280 (or less depending where you look) can actually do all that and more.

One of my first jobs (summer) at the tender age of 16 once I had my driver's license was at a Mercedes/Porsche/Audi dealership. There, all garages that were not main dealers were referred to as "shade tree mechanics"...

Yes, the price difference between a new IIDTool and a new IIDTool BT is less than GBP180 from most retailers, but please take the following 2 items into account:
- we take your 2+ year old IIDTool back and give you a new IIDTool BT at ~1/2 price
- as this process is not automated, we do everything by hand: from correspondence to mail to database changes (it does not sound like much, but added up on a per-unit basis it is more than one would assume)

Could you have made out better if you'd have sold the old IIDTool on the bay and purchased a new BT directly? Possibly - but prob not if you ad your time.

We are not earning anything on this and are providing this service strictly as a favor for our loyal customers. To paraphrase another LR diagnostic tool manufacturer on a different LR board (on why they were not aiding customers with a buyback program): we quite obviously have very little need for many used IIDTools. Embarassed

Seriously, if you are unhappy - let us know. At the very least we will be able to explain why we are charging what we are...

Not unhappy or I wouldn't have done it, as we speak I am looking for an iPad Mini or 3 to go with it (I already have iPnone 4S) to further improve usability as I am a big supporter of GAP and like the IIDTool.

However, although not a big deal I have sent a separate e-mail sent to Patrick explaining why I raised it but this isn't the right forum as I feel you guys get deserved positive vibes and so I apologise for that. Geoff

I'm thinking to purchase the IIDtool and the manly reason is to control the EAS heights.

I see many L322 with more height than mine i like the look much more.

But i have some questions related.

1 - How can i know the normal heights for my car?

2 - If i increase the height do i compromise anyway the safety when i'm driving?

3 - Can i step up 2 different heights one for normal driving and other to the automatic high speed height?
