Is this part of the towbar assembly or is it on all cars?

Hi I took the towbar and crossmember off my car today and just wanted to ask if the part shown in the photo is a part of the car or is it a part of the towbar assembly?

i'm not sure but i think a crash bar has to be re-fitted when you take off the tow bar..hopefully someone will confirm or dispel this... ... - .- -.

Was that a yep to my post or Stan's post? Which of those parts in the diagram is what I have taken a photo of? Also do I need a crash bar as suggested by Stan? 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 v8 LPG, Java Black, 22' Hawke Alloys, Black Beast

By the looks of it you have a Non OE tow bar fitted and you have only removed a portion of it. Then you would usually replace the original tow hooks... Thumbs Up

List a pic of the part you have removed and then i can tell toy more sir Thumbs Up

Definitely a non OE tow bar you have there sir... If you look at the pics RRPhil listed you can see the difference... You only need to remove the two side parts and replace the original tow eye bracket parts and you will be back to standard...

Bare in mind, without the original tow eye brackets you will be missing the rear tow eye... Don't know if that has any effect on your decision making process? Thumbs Up

Ok bit of a snag there then as I have used that part to bolt my LPG filler cap to (as pictured).

My car never had a rear tow eye/hook when I bought it - what does one look like and is there any way I can still attach one to my car if I ever need to pull something?
