Many thanks gents.

Just need to get my head around the 7w to replace a 21w bit, or whether a 30w is needed and whether 4 of them will run ok, as is the thread above.

Have decided I will change them, just a case of finding out what's best.

Response from seller I bought from is that they do not sell the main indicator bulbs in white colour. They do sell white LED side repeaters.

For my own understanding, why are some RR in need of white and some amber indicator bulbs (thought they would all be the same)? Embarassed

Pre-07 facelift, the cars had orange indicator lenses - then fashion changed and they went clear

i have the facelift lights, and upgraded the sidelamps to non error 501 types, and they look great, i then changed the amber 'egg' bulbs for those clear ones that flash orange. they also look good, as they are filament type, and cant be 'seen' as they look clear. i tried a few high watt led bumper fog lights, but they were really poor light, as were the high beam LED's so i stuck with the normal ones. at the rear i have the SC lights, and also used those funny clear lights, that flash the correct colour, but look a bit green, and cost a lot. i was gonna change my number plate lights, but they light up the plate even more than normal, making me easier to see making an escape from whoever, so i left them alone too.!

Thanks pld118, will continue a search of the net.

I now intend to put cree's in, with the 30w in the rear and the 7w ones in the fronts.

The only bit I'm not sure of now is whether I need any sideways facing LEDs in the front ones, or whether a forward facing single cree will do.

It seems ba15s is a code that seems to be on the internet, but I'm not sure the s means straight pins, and Stan says they need to be offset......

The side repeaters and then reverse lights is my plan next.....

Just wondered if the higher wattage rears are too bright when the brakes are not on at night ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Ideally the cree LED's need to emulate the filament bulb to get the reflector in the indicator to work correctly... If you were to use just forward facing LED's then surely the dispersal of the light would be incorrect...

These are pictures of the bayonet fit, plug and play, error free, main indicator LED bulbs that I've happily got on the front and rear of the SC now (they've been on over a month).

As pictured, each bulb uses 6 x 5watt CREE LED = a total of output of 30 Watt/ 400 Lumen.

Don’t know if this all helps with any of your thoughts about how light emits from certain LED bulbs:

Look right to me Thumbs Up The LED's are set somewhere close to where the filament of a bulb would normally be so would work in the correct fashion imho Thumbs Up

Are they much brighter than standard bulbs? i.e. if you put one in one side and put your hazzard lights on, do they look noticably brighter?

If so, could you put up a link please?

Excellent. Looks like I'm best making sure the bulbs I get have sideways facing LED's, as you chaps have already suggested.

Just need to find white 30w CREE's then - x 4......... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Well these seem to be the cheapest 30w on the bay of e.........

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/30W-BA15S-1156-3...51b6e43ede

There is a 25w version available, but not sure what LED's are in it. Its also more expensive than the 30w version ;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1X-1156-382-BA15...43c2fe9717

There is also an 80w version if you don't like the cars following.......

The above links are for white LED's.

Seems to be a bit non comittal on the error free canbus front, but as I've got Navcoder and the iidTool, I should be OK.

Not much choice on the reversing light front though, for a H6 bulb.

Some pics and a discussion here on the e46 fanatics forum about cree reversing light bilbs, though these are not H6 which we need ;

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=907397

It was the pic against the garage door that made me think that the reverse lights could do with an upgrade. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

850 Lumen is quite bright I think as ours are 30W and are definitely 400 Lumen (850 Lumen applicable to the 30W bulb you're interested in Mark, according to the seller's claims anyway).

Also, is some clarity needed/ does the foot of the add contradict by stating:

"New High Power LED bulbs with 6 x 5w CREE LED... These bulbs are new in the Auto market. Boasting a massive 850 Lumens of brightness out of one bulb... 5 x 5W Power CREE LED Chips... "

Question

The reverse lamp bulbs are a small bayonette fitting stan (like an old type torch bulb) and the 501 is a push fit (front side light bulb)
