What sort of mileage do these pumps fail at generally?

I think its age more than anything but they seem to last about 6-8yrs on average on here.

Replacement is dead simple, Release the cover on the passenger side, crimp the fuel line in and out and undo the plug, undo the pipe clamps, undo the clamp on the unit itself and then slide it out and slide the new one in Smile

Refit as above.

When you turn the engine on turn to the RUN position and let it fully prime until the motor shuts off and then do it one more time to purge air bubbles and then go to start it Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I had a similar problem on my X5, same engine.

It was the cam shaft sensor.

+1 for CPS

+1 in a post means that person agrees with the previous post.

CPS Is cam/crank position sensor

+1 for CPS means I agree that the cam/crank position sensor.
