Yes, had the same problem. Just found some suitable screws and washers, and I used a strip of perforated metal as well just to help hold everything in place where the "holes" were too big for the fixings. .

Some of these 50mm dia washers with the original fixings would work.

I second that suggestion. And keep any extra washers for when you have to fix the brake disc heat shields |

Ressurecting this thread, I have the same problem with the rear heat shield fixings rusted away. Can't quite see where the bolts exit inside the boot area. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Mine was the same, it's currently lying on the garage floor, has been for the last 3 years. Not gone up in flames so all good! |

I have yet to do this job but it is on my list..... Does anyone know the correct name for this shield over the rear exhaust box?

Just a guess but maybe "rear exhaust shield'. Think you answered you own question! |

There seemed to be very little reference to that search term on google so I wondered if I was looking for the wrong thing. |

I had a look. I can see that the fixings are some type of self tapping screw. Strangely, I can't find the head of the screw in the spare wheel well? Any clue? Are they just pushed up into the underside?

They should be studs that stick down from the main body and a clip or nut screws onto them. If the studs are not there you need to devise a plan B |

It's definitely a screw sticking down. There is no sign of the part that holds the shield - it seems to have corroded away. |
