The fault has reappeared on allcomms. I'm also getting another fault since taking out the seat which wasn't there previously/ "drive buckle pretensioner".
Just phoned local Land Rover dealers and they don't know what the faults relate to, but suggest a low battery. I told them I've just fitted a new battery so they then suggested a possible ECU fault.
All they seem to want to do is book the car in and try different things until they cure it. That could prove to be expensive.

I can see a lot of cars driving around without MOT thanks to this crazy lot changing the rules and failing on warning lights. Some just wont go to the expense of having them repaired.

just to confirm,

you are getting 14.5 volts on idle,
the engine is running when you are using the RSW,
all connections have been rechecked and are secure,
the RSW will not clear said faults,
you have done a battery disconnection and left it unbatteryfied for longer than 30 minutes..


i can feel your frustration but its a process of elimination and you might have to bite the bullet and have a garage look at it.. ... - .- -.

Yes to all.
RSW does clear the faults, but the airbag light stays on. When I run a second check, the fault returns.
Ideally, the RSW software should be more in depth. The errors are a bit open ended IMO - could be anything

it would be handy to know which airbag is faulty and/or what is causing the airbag light to come on ...have you considered removing fuses to see which part is faulty [if this is possible that is].. ... - .- -.

Found the fuse (44) its fine and removing /refitting has made no difference. Just left the battery off for 3/4hr too- still no change.

I'm just checking RAVE now to see if this will tell me anything. Failing that, its going into a specialist tomorrow

Did you try to clear all faults in the instrument pack ECU ?? I remember from the BBS forum that some faults are logged in several ECUs, hence they won't clear by clearing the original fault.

Not sure how the RSW works but Faultmate allows you to do that sort of stuff, so I'm expecting the Testbook can do it as well (although BBS say the Faultmate can do more than the Testbook). MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

ebajema is right, well worth running through all the ECUs and clearing all faults, due to the daisy chain effect! .

Tried them all and cleared the faults I came across. Still the same.

It's going into a specialist tomorrow- they've for Testbook which I'm hoping will show more than allcomms does.

this probably wont help, (re urgent MOT) but I had an airbag fault light on mine (TDV8 2007)
stayed with me for about a week then cleared itself, .
I also had a problem with the sat nav at about the same time, kept telling me I was in the North Sea....
I new I wasn't, that cured itself as well ,I like cars that fix themselves

Been to the garage today and they stuck the Testbook on and its the ECU thats gone.

At least I know now. I can get a replacement sorted and hopefully that will cure it.

Sorted. Bought a used ECU off the bay for £40 and fitted it last night. Airbag light now out!
