I checked the situation both with the bonnet open and bonnet closed, made no difference either way to the car going to sleep. Thumbs Up

Should I laugh Rolling with laughter or should I cry Big Cry? You decide. Here are my latest adventures.

The discussion @ the LR dealer
- Monday: Sir your car will be ready tomorrow, we found nothing, all is ok
- Tuesday: You can come and pick it up
- Wednesday morning (I was too busy on tuesday): OMW to the dealer, call on the phone. Sir your car doesn't start this morning. Your battery is completely dead and indicates 8V... So it was indeed the battery that was faulty. me: Hum, I don't think so but if it's all you can do, go ahead and change it if you're sure it's dead.

The workshop chief tells me the following:
- When a battery is flat on this kind of cars, we never recharge them because it means it's dead (differs to small cars, differs also to old batteries, he told me…)
- We've done a hell lot of research on your car and it continuously started wihtout issue (after checking with the mechanic, battery was disconnected from the car most of the time, for testing)
Continuing with the mechanic:
- We've seen no drain, tends to 0.01A after 30 mins (great, what I had already explained)
- Me: did you plug a logger? => No, we don't have one.
- A car can't magically turn things up during the night besides what's scheduled
- Me: have you heard about FSR drain. => Nope (note that I didn't know the french word for FSR). I tried to explain but didn't ring a bell

Well, 650€ less in my pocket (4h of diag, 1 batt, 1 replacement of a coolant hose), I leave the dealer and get back home, quite sure my issue isn't solved.

Since then
- Went back home: old battery was at 11.something (don't remember) but not 8… Put it in charge and will see
- Overnight, the car lost 0.4v (from 12.6 to 12.23 this morning)
- At the office, which is really far from the supposed antenna
10h: 12.53 (but doors were not locked until 14h20)
14h50: 12.23
15h50: 12.23
17h10: 12.22
18h10: 12.21

Here's where I stand.
Overall feeling: The competency of the LR dealer is low, the honesty isn't flying high (hope I'm wrong on this one)
My car still has a nasty issue probably linked to the antenna near my house?
If I want to treat the RFI, any other options than the cleaning & waxing all grounding points as mentioned here?

Hi all, some news:
I've been able to locate the earthpoints thanks to the doc sent, thanks.
On monday I found my battery completely dead (the old one) with only 8.5v. Maybe constantly being discharged then recharged killed it?
Decided to change it, went for a generic 90A one since I was in a big hurry to get the car ready for going to ski.
Went to ski, 500kms away, observed the battery draining itself at the pace of 0,04v / hour.
I guess I don't suspect Radio Frequency Interferences any more?

Sorry to hear you are still having a problem.
It obviously isn't external interference causing the problem.
Is the battery still draining now you are back home?
0.04V / h drop in voltage on the battery is a lot and is unsustainable.
In view of the amount of checks you have done to date I simply don't know what else to suggest unfortunately.

I haven't tested if the battery was still draining but I will later today.
One crazy thing is that my old battery, after resting in the garage for a few days now indicates 11.17 (indicated 8.5 on monday). How is this possible? 2008 TDV8 VOGUE - Buckingham Blue on Sand

Normally that indicates that the battery is f Censored cked. Wasn't this one new ?? Not that that is a guarantee, even new ones can fail in days/weeks (don't think it happens a lot but have heard it).

One thing I'm thinking of doing is plugging an ohmmeter that has logging capability and see what happens. Maybe the consumption pattern will be familiar and allow to identify the faulty part. 2008 TDV8 VOGUE - Buckingham Blue on Sand

Well, still haven't bought the ohmmeter with logger, but I did an interesting thing yesterday night:
- Removed all fuses in the glove box
- Lost 0,06V in 8.5 hours => 0,008 / hour => 0,19 / 24hours
If this comes to acceptable (tell me what you think), I'm going to do dichotomy tests and unplug only half of the fuses tonight and so on to narrow to the faultive ones.
forgot to mention that while putting back all fuses, it turned out that one 5A fuse was replaced by a 30A. Changed back to a 5A. 2008 TDV8 VOGUE - Buckingham Blue on Sand
