Aftermarket?

After having problems with my audio system I'm tempted to remove the non touch screen unit, amp, sat nav, dsp,cd changer and tuner and replace the whole system with after market double din ,iPod,sat nav, amps, speakers, subs and new wiring etc

Would removing these stock items cause many problems? I know I wouldnt be able to change the clock time or reset the mpg etc but that I can live without them for exchange of great working audio?

Is anything else connected to this system ie: parking sensors etc?

Only issues with fitting after market units I can see are adjusting the clock and resetting mpg etc??

The probs I've had are amp failing door speaker by door speaker!
Blank screen, sat nav unit failing, subs blown???? The list seems to go on!

Sorry
First of all the sat nav died so I replaced with a mk4 which I think now is failing? then the door speakers died one by one, so presume the amp is dieing? The screen is permanently blank now? The subwoofers sound blown? I don't think the system was actually that great to start off with so really don't fancy spending the money on it when I could get a million time better system for the same money??

Just really want to know what will happen if I remove all the existing units?

I have had similar problems, I took all units out to find out what the problem was. Obviously water damage, pins of the TV-unit where rusty, so I cleaned them out and had to solder the positive + straight from the print to the cable cause the pin broke while cleaning, and wanted to try to get it to work before spending money. After that everything worked well except for my NAV witch I had to replace for the 2nd time . Since then I kept my AC on all the time and haven't seen any water since. But I did cover everything with some plastic's.... just in case..

I've had a look at most of the plugs and all seams ok? When I get some time I'll go through everything with a fine tooth comb!
If it was that simple I'd life with it, but the blank screen is useless as it is??

Nothing, just the back light? I plugged it into the tuner plug aswell with no joy,

Today as I've been driving with no music, the sat unit is making a mad spinning noise?

Take out the MK4 anyway, and try to find a TV tuner, the are not so expensive. I've seen them go for 60 to 100 pounds. try to go from there, you might end up cheaper than replacing for aftermarket.

I've finally decided a new double din aftermarket system is the way forward.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the speaker connections at the amp, this should save me re wiring the door speakers from scratch!

Thanks for you help Thumbs Up

It's not the range rover screen going in it'll be a pioneer double din, I'll be losing all the standard screen, amp, dsp, tuner, sat etc
