Thanks for that Steve. I thout I tried it with the ignition turned on at one stage, but I'll go and try it now it has (and I have) cooled down a bit. Laughing

Cheers - Gav.

Well, 1 from 2...

Service reset procedure worked - thanks for that, but I still can't see a lot of the ECU's for some reason, and when I try to do a RESET ALL, it counts through to CLEARING 9, then comes up with UPDATE FAILED, then says CLEARING 10, then exits the tool. Tried it with the key in every position, including with the car running, so I'm a bit stumped. It used to go through to about 25 or something like that.

Cheers - Gav.

try a software update from the gap site, you might have the correct version already but it might be corrupt..and check the pins in the obd port and IIDTool are not bent.. ... - .- -.

Could be a daft question, but how will we know when GAP have upgraded software available for the IID Tool ?

Will owners get an email ?

or is it a matter of going on their web site from time to time ?

Reset

Hi Steve

You mentioned in an early post on here that some ecu's may not be changed if an RAC tool had been used in the past and changed default settings. I believe you also mentioned that these could be reset via the IID tool. I think I may be suffering from this as lots of things won't actually set.

Eg park heating or aux heating. IID does change then to enabled but hey don't show up. Same with follow me home lights.

Is there a way to reset the ecu's back to standard so I can start afresh?

Thx a million in advance! Ash

May not help, but to get the park heating enabled, you also have to do a reset on the instrument cluster after the 2 iid tool settings.

Disconnect the battery and reconnet or go into the hidden menu and choose the test for "reset".

Fine after that. Aux Heating/Vent in menu........

I covered it in another thread I think.........

EDIT - sorry - its on page 19 of this thread !! Embarassed 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

You Genius MJ (and probably others too)

This is what I love so much about this forum. People finding cure fix's and sharing them.... Me being me, I Just popped out to the car, did the cluster reset following your procedure to code 21 and hey presto..!! I now have Aux Heating/Vent on the menu... set for tomorrow morning to test it all out.

Thank you so much guys.!

I is one happy camper. (until I get a flat battery because the FBH is now working..!) Shocked

ps - just need to fix the follow me home lights and i'm done for now. Ash
