Collected car from Lookers Battersea, Tim Haines sorted the sticky caliper issue under warranty so very chuffed. No more rear wheel steering on lift off which was not the best feature to have in the snow!!

Drove to Viseu (1.25 hrs )very stormy weather, trees down, power outages for some hours, and torrents of hard driving rain.Drove through many pools of running/ standing water on roads. Through the curves saw a vehicle half mile ahead. Caught up, it was a BMW 320d, braking before each bend, crossing over the inner white line , on every right hand bend, and the outer solid line on every left hander. On overtaking him, saw the driver was some old fart( about my age , I reckon )
FF was as if on rails, no issues. Also one can appreciate the refinements of heated steering wheel, seat and regulated interval wipers. Range Rover Vogue TD6 2002

Ctc, high or low range?!?

Today I started stripping the brakes off. Feck me they hadn't been done for a few years but were still holding good!!

Took the drivers front pads and disc off and out new ones on and both rears done as well now including new rear caliper. Tool the caliper mount/sliders off as gave them a wash but may buy a repair kit for the sliders before its too late as they aren't notchy but they ain't as smooth as should be but am tempted by brembo's upfront as I run 19's all the time now Wink

The rear pass side ceased caliper was done without an assistant or bleed device but just pure gravity.

A quick test before bed and the 3 that are done are flicking amazing now! Lightest touch and it starts throwing te anchor out and a heavy touch gets all 4 wheels grabbing away!!!

The rear discs and pads don't look too bad for the side that didn't cease which is a shame really but I shall keep them as spares for when the otherside wants to go the same way!

Front pass side is down for tomorrow night as in shattered now and its only been 24hrs since my op and 10 since I left hospital!
These new brakes have a feeling more akin to hydro cits of years gone by than a modern car!!

Also reminded me I need more nitrile gloves and some more work ones as well Sad

Friday if there is still snow over wood head pass she will get a taste of it as most has melted round here now Big Cry FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Changed the transfer box motor as I had been getting the Transfer Box Neutral warning and the annoying 'Boing Boing' , car still drove fine but would not select low range without re-intialising the potentiometer, these bloody things are £1300 and the only thing wrong with them is usually the rotating resistor, I was lucky I found one on the bay and gave the guy £70 for it as he could not say it was definatly good, he had bought it a year before for his RR for £350. Anyway all seems to be working fine again, goes low-hi easily and no warnings. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

Bought a remote heater fob from the bay for £21 new and it worked. Found a venture cam accessory kit in the boot and a lead to plug iPod into stereo. Also checked docs and it has a tracker. Can only be downhill from here Rolling with laughter
