ffrr?

I know the whole ffrr vs rrs has been done to death and i have searched the forum and read some very interstng threads.
i am in the market in a few months for a full fat but would also love a rrs. As i have never owned either they are both vehicles that i aspire to own. I know this forum wll be based but i would like to know why some people chose the full fat instead of the sport? In the spring i may be able to stretch to a sport but would comfortably be able to get a 2004 full fat.
What would you do?

My view is you should drive them both then decide which one is for you. They're very different, unlikely you'd not form an opinion. Graham

Hi

I have come from a sport to the FF.
As said before me its a personal choice.

There are people who say if your under 40 have a sport.

The Sport is what it says its sporty handling is great if you go for the V8 diesel its very quick. There not much room in the back for passengers.

The FF is pure Luxury the handling is completely different. FF is a gentleman's car you will drive it differently too.
The TDV8 is great in the FF.

Go for the FF if your over 40 Thumbs Up Thumbs Up 2020 Porsche Panamera Turbo Hybrid (V FAST)

It all depends on what you find "important". I had the same choice to make ages ago and had a look at both. To be honest I already had a preference for the FF but couldn't find a nice one at the beginning of my search. Once I sat in the back of the RRS (I still thought that my driver would be driving me sometimes, how wrong could I be Smile ) it was all over. I am too tall to sit in the back so that was the end of it. Eventually I found my FFRR S/C on my daily drive from office to work and am soo happy I got the FF.

To me space inside the car is quite important (apart from height as I am quite tall). The RRS is smaller inside but also feels relatively smallish. For example a disco (same chassis etc.) doesn't feel small inside at all. To me the RRS is more like a slightly bigger 4x4 stationwagen and the FF and Disco are full blown 4x4s.

I also wanted the lower tailgate (not that I really use it much) that of course the RRS does not have.

My personal opinion is that the FFRR looks better, has more space, more presence etc. I like that, the RRS looks more like a "normal" car while the FF really stands out from the average car (granted the RRS does as well but not by much).

The comfort level of the FFRR is slightly higher IMHO and that is very important to me. I really like uberquiet and comfortable cars.

Just make a list of things that are important to you and see which of the two scores better on that list. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Interesting as my 4.4 petrol and a TDV8 sport were virtually identical in acceleration with my mate driving the sport. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

I am 27 but the age preconception of a ffrr doesnt bother me, what i want is luxury and the feeling of being somewhere special and the enjoyment of driving something prestigous. I will of course test drive both. It also seems that used ffrr is available for the same money as a sport, however the ffrr started off a lot more expensive and so i would assume you get more for your money

I've only driven the RRS's that I've had in for mot but the things that put me off compared to the proper one is the interior space. The center console is a lot higher and I felt that gave it more of a cramped feel. Like somebody here has said, go find both and drive them. I think I would have a disco over a RRS. Is it petrol or diesel you're looking at ?

My opinion is that the Range Rover is a gentlemans car where as the Sport is a footballers wife/hooligan machine (after all it is just a Disco in wolves clothing Twisted Evil )
As Top Gear once said - Sport - fantastic car and you will love it until a real Full Fat pulls along side and then you know what you should have bought Bow down
A few buyers of sports around me (new - not second hand) all - with no exception - after a year went Full Fat ! Wink
Enough said Mr. Green

Can you get a decent RRS for that money ?

Pound for pound, the FF is much better value for money, and you'll feel like you are travelling in something special. You will feel like you have spent your money wisely.

To be fair, I've never been in an RRS, but if that was in the frame, I'd probably end up with an X5.....

To me, the RRS is a Discovery with some of the practicality removed......... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

i was thinking a rrs might be in the range of 13-14 come summer time or i might be prepared to stretch a bit, but i think i would rather be comfortable and not over spend but stll get a special full fat easily for 13-14k. I think a full fat be the final choice, plus we have a big dog and he will have more room in the back

imho the fulfat every time its the daddy ,to many people i speak to think the sport is the flagship, god knows why when new the ffat cost considerably more than the sport and when you sit in one and drive one you can tell , but at the end of the day its personal preference Thumbs Up 1990 3.5 v8 defender
