I hope the car hasn't started 2013 as it wishes to proceed, but this morning it was down on NSF after being left in off road height.

I started the car up and could hear a loud hiss, and then I could feel the hole and air coming out.

Doesn't seem too bad at normal height, if not OK..........

I've done a search on here and see that Island 4x4 are likely to be cheapest for the Delphi units, but do you have to replace both front ones ?

I've a feeling I know the answer to this if I'm honest. I always tend to do 2 springs or shocks on a car.........but it doubles the cost of repair, which ain't cheap.

From what I remember having had this before on my P38 it depends on why it went in the first place. If it got a tear from something then no need to do the others. If it went because it's worn (you can usually tell by crease lines and drying out of rubber bags) then chances are another may well be on it's way out.

Regarding leaving it till it does go completely - up to you but you run the risk of it going when it's totally inconvenient and you are left either high and dry or a rather uncomfortable drive home/to garage. Would personally want to have wife and kids in the car on a long journey faced with that. (just a personal opinion though) Ash

Thats pretty much my thinking if I'm honest.

Just trying not to spend money unnecessarily.

Just been out and it looks like the entire front has now dropped, so assume its "normal" for the drivers side to drop, as the air will have escaped out the passenger side air bag. (depending on what the cross link valve is doing.

Its going to the bodyshop in the morning for a bit of work, so will have to wait till thats done.......

Seem to remember Gordon Lamb in Chesterfield selling airbags for FF not long ago via their ebay shop - might be worth a call ?

Best to do both, it's always advised to replace shocks and/or springs in pairs, in this case they are combined! Depends if you know the history of the existing units? I am guessing that they are the originals, in which case they have reached EOL

Having replaced my fronts a year ago, am still waiting for the rears to give out  .

I had my front passenger side airbag leaking a while back. I found some new struts on the bay for about £230. I was to tight to replace both. If i had the spare cash i would have done but i knew i had to spend it on other bits. (tyres). From what i can see and feel when driving the car is fine. I changed it with a friend and it took about twenty mins. Gone:

If you can hear and feel air - there is no more waiting to do. You only have another couple of hours of driving left - at best. Time to replace.

My local specialist recons £270 + VAT to fit them both.

They are turning into dreamers. Am shopping around now.......

I changed my front air bags at the beginning of the summer last year. Bought the Dunlop ones and have no problems with them so far.

There is a good write up on how to do them somewhere that I used and it was easy enought (2 -3 hours max).

Hardest part was trying to line the 3 bolts with the 3 holes and put the nuts back on, but I was trying to do this myself

You couldn't write it.............

Just picked car up from bodyshop, they've done a good job, but the car now has "Air Susp Inactive" on the dash and its down on the bump stops front passenger side.

Not totally surprised, but I've just sold my RSW All Comms and posted the lead off yesterday and I start a new job Monday, so am a bit stuck.

Excellent timing me thinks !!

Upshot - I'll have to use it for the 4 mile trip to work for 2 days and its booked in to get the 2 new struts fitted Wednesday...........

Don't see any way around it.
