I'm wondering if it has dried out?? Is the nokia working now. Can you see the car with your mobile phone? Is it connecting? Have you taken the connector off the Nokia (not the fibre optics) to check for water damage, ie white powder/gunge on the pins? Previously..

It does sound like the Nokia has packed up... But before you do anything else... Take the connections to the Nokia off and check them. It might be they just need a good clean if they have water damage. It is a 2 minute job, no tool required, to check. Previously..

hi contraband,, ok this is the latest situation. i have been a bit busy today but just been out to the car to check if everything is still running, which it was,! audio and gps. so i decided to do as you suggested and check the main plug on the nokia to see if there was any signs of water damage etc as i still could not connect my phone.

This is actually all good news... Get yourself an electrical cleaner spray, one that leaves no residue. Disconnect the plug. Take the keys out of the ignition and wait 15 mins to make sure everything is asleep, so to speak. Or if happier, disconnect battery. Spray the connector and blast the crap out of it. Let it dry completely. You could do the same with he Nokia but I think it is probably had it, but it's worth a try. I had exactly the same fault and had to buy a new Nokia, well, eBay.

A needle with the end broken off acts as a good scraper for the small holes in the plugs in conjunction with contact cleaner as above.

Wd40 is an oil!! Do not use that.. Computer shop, yes, they may have some. Can you buy online and get delivery where you are? When I opened up my Nokia it was soaking wet. I dried it out, but it was dead. I bought one for £40 from another member. you have nothing to lose by trying to dry yours, but you must make sure the connector and pins are clean. Previously..

Bob The fourth screw on the nokia is under the security seal middle of circle. usually no one will fix if seal broken, but wiggs does not fix our type anyways. (SEE WHAT HAPPENS WITH HEATED SEATS) |

hi guys thanks for that. i have the back off now and actually apart from a little condensation for want of another word, on the top of the stainless protection cover, there was no water inside other than the above. looking at the circuit board, it all seems clean enough but there was a bit of staining around the top left; top right and lower right. it came straight off with a cotton bud but i i will try to clean it a bit with the contact cleaner? you never know it might still work but it does not sound too hopefull.
