Brakes!

Hi guys,

Does anyone know what sort of price i should be paying for new front brakes to be fitted on my 2006 Vogue?

Even better, if i can purchase them and fit myself!

Any help would be much appreciated. This is all new stuff to me.

Thanks.

Rick

Personally think with a reasonably low ability brakes are more than possible! If you have a reasonable socket set, Allen keys, hammer, you should be more than capable. Think there are set of discs and pads on eBay! [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Got mine from duckworth parts - very reasonable. Suggest sending a pm to Dan.

Didn't fit them myself after reading how they can be a pain in the ar$e to get off and I wanted my brake fluid changing. Otherwise seems an easy job.

Depends where you buy. Main agent quoted me £450.00 , but it can be done for £70ish DIY

Recently replaced all four sets on my L322 V8 - simple enough job as long as you have the ability to jack the car up and support it securely. The only tough bit was 'encouraging' the calliper bolts to release. Plenty of copper ease on the back of the pads and its a simple replacement job as long as you are confident and know what you are doing. There are plenty of youtube videos (Storey I think) on ow to do this.

Got all my pads / sensors from Dan on this forum - prompt service as always and a good price. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

This is a good read if you want to change you own discs / pads.
It's specifically for a D3 but the principles are the same for a FFRR.

yes, on one of the RR's and they are fine, absolutely no issues, plus saved £350ish on the stealer. I am given to understand that Mintex are OEM, but don't really care, Mintex are good anyway.

Gaz, is that Labour only? I've just been quoted £560 +VAT for supply and fit of front and rear brakes, discs and sensors.

Also, any experience with Pagit Pads/Discs? African Bush Junkie ... in London!
