Just to clarify re the regs if anyone was still unsure.

For schedule 3 or the lighting regs the halos do come under the aux light category and therefore can be on when either side or main beam is on or even as daytime running lights so on whenever engine is running.

The only thing to be aware of and someone with MOT tester knowledge may be able to help here is once they are fitted they normally then come under MOT regs ie need to be working when the bus goes for the annual health check Confused 2006 MY Autobiography. With 'toys'

Just to clarify, just because something is retro-fitted to a car eg additional lights etc does not mean it automatically becomes a testable item under the mot regulations.
The lights that are testable under the mot are listed in Schedule 1 of the MOT Inspection Manual.

The classic one is front fog lights, although fitted they are not listed in Schedule 1 and therefore are not a testable items.

Just remember, If its not in the manual, it's not testable and therefore can't be failed.

you can connect to the side lights direct no probs, the harness gives you 2 switch lines one from 12v ignition live and the other one can be connected to you courtesy light so when you unlock/lock the car they comeand dim out. never used it my self ut thats what it does. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
