Just to clarify, just because something is retro-fitted to a car eg additional lights etc does not mean it automatically becomes a testable item under the mot regulations. The lights that are testable under the mot are listed in Schedule 1 of the MOT Inspection Manual. The classic one is front fog lights, although fitted they are not listed in Schedule 1 and therefore are not a testable items. Just remember, If its not in the manual, it's not testable and therefore can't be failed. |

Is harness needed if just connecting to side lights directly. I think side lights are black red wires from reading? cheers. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

you can connect to the side lights direct no probs, the harness gives you 2 switch lines one from 12v ignition live and the other one can be connected to you courtesy light so when you unlock/lock the car they comeand dim out. never used it my self ut thats what it does. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
