Interesting, the one which failed on my car must have been the exception then, it never had a tow bar! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining! |

Funny reaction to an innocent observation? Sorry if I offended Craig, just stating fact based on my direct experience.

There was/is a problem with some Mercedes and glyco contamination, from memory the main cause was Valeo radiators and coolers leaking causing cross contamination. Never heard of a FFRR having this problem though |

Both I believe Craig. Basically, any car which has the transmission fluid cooler in the main radiator will be susceptible to this. Radiators have a finite life and when they do let go quite a lot do so between the water and oil parts. Quite a common pre-emptive thing is to fit an ali rad, or a separate gearbox oil cooler.
Have personally seen 4 now. EDIT. From memory, all were either 56 plate or 07 which would make them 6 speeds. |
