Well Tim, i did try telling the forum there is no plans to build a new Discovery (as the LR3/4 took off unexpectedly) so the 7 seat option obviously replaces the need for a Disco... Was told i was talking misinformed nonsense though! Craig |

I also notice that the old side vents are now just styling on the doors so i assume that the intakes are in the same place as on an Evoque - under the edge of the bonnet, on top of the wheel arch, much better protection from water ingress and isolation from dust than previously but no way can you fit a raised intake. I would also wager that it will be more economical on diesel than my Evoque - the only real disappointment of the car for me is the economy is nowhere near the official 50mpg in the combined cycle more like 35mpg and the new Rangey should be able to achieve that as I wasn't getting too far from that in my last TDv8 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |

Do you seriously think they won't replace the Discovery? It would be complete madness not to when they are so popular - certainly the Range Rover Sport can't fill the gap. Suggestion is that it could be based on the next Defender platform. |

Autocar suggest £70k - presumably that's the poverty-spec TDV6. |

I don't think they don't want to replace it, i was told Land Rover were cought napping, not expecting the LR3+4 to sell well worldwide... So now there's no replacement due/designed inline with the new FF and SS Craig |

It looks good overall but I had hoped for better styling. There are a lot of contrived features purely there to disguise its bulk in my opinion and to give it the new family look of the Evoque. It is not a clean design like the L322. Therefore this design will not last the 10 years that the L322 has with only minor styling tweaks. It will require a more extensive facelift at mid life to keep this design fresh. The wrap around lights especially at the back I find to be the worst feature. From the pictures the angle of the rear overhang seems much steeper than before as well which I think looks odd. This is again I guess to disguise the bulk or maybe to improve the departure angle as presumably the longer wheelbase has had a negative effect on this. I also notice that there are no visible exhaust pipes for the supercharged versus the TDV8 and therefore no styling cues anymore to distinguish the two. Doubtless this will be addressed with some expensive and hideous styling pack in the future.
