Is it just me, but it looks huge ... How much bigger is it than the current one ? I cannot find any measurements anywhere.

The new Sport will also be along soon, based on the Range Rover this time and not the Disco. That maybe be more Uk sized.

I love it BUT the satnav/tv is from the Evoque and over on BabyRR.com that has been roundly slagged off for being caste off technology from Jaguar. It is dim witted and extremely slow to calculate, small icons and generally 20th century tech and not 21st century (I have the same one in my Evoque). I read in autocar today that it will be available in 4,5 and 7 seat versions for those who have to have an offroad luxury people mover! the 4 seater is called the Executive option. I see also that there is an option to have the same superb Meridian audio systems that the Evoque has - if you thought the HK was great then just just take seat in an Evoque with the 825w system 17 speaker system - don't turn the volume above 25-30 of the 70 notches otherwise it really will blow you away!.

Well Tim, i did try telling the forum there is no plans to build a new Discovery (as the LR3/4 took off unexpectedly) so the 7 seat option obviously replaces the need for a Disco...

Was told i was talking misinformed nonsense though!

I also notice that the old side vents are now just styling on the doors so i assume that the intakes are in the same place as on an Evoque - under the edge of the bonnet, on top of the wheel arch, much better protection from water ingress and isolation from dust than previously but no way can you fit a raised intake. I would also wager that it will be more economical on diesel than my Evoque - the only real disappointment of the car for me is the economy is nowhere near the official 50mpg in the combined cycle more like 35mpg and the new Rangey should be able to achieve that as I wasn't getting too far from that in my last TDv8 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Do you seriously think they won't replace the Discovery? It would be complete madness not to when they are so popular - certainly the Range Rover Sport can't fill the gap.

Suggestion is that it could be based on the next Defender platform.

Scotland 2006 Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged Zermatt Silver

Is it just me or....
Does anyone else think the black masking round the rear door window and the glass behind the D pillar is excessive?
Any ideas what it's for? 2006 Supercharged

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Orkney Grey

according to this http://www.t3.com/news/new-range-rover-rel...-announced
prices will START from 80K
Engines available will be supercharged V8 petrol engine, TDV6 and SDV8 diesel engines

If that's right & the base TDV6 is 80K, that's gonna make top spec Supercharge about 100K Shocked

Autocar suggest £70k - presumably that's the poverty-spec TDV6.

2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black

I'm thinking the lineup will be:

SDV6 Vogue
V6SC 3.0 Vogue SE
SDV8 Autobiography
V8SC Autobiography

The 4.4TDV8 will be extremely fast.

from Top Gear - http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/new-lan...2012-08-15

"The new V6 diesel can boast the same performance as the outgoing V8 diesel, because of course, the car - along with that new engine - is lighter. There's also a supercharged petrol V8 on offer too."

Can't wait to see the performance figures for the TDV8 Thumbs Up what do you reckon 0-60 in 6 secs ?
Supercharge 4.5ish ?
About time they made something to give the Cayenne a run for it's money Laughing

ps. is the TDV6 a brand new engine or one currently used elsewhere ?

I would imagine the V6 diesel is the same 3.0 SDV6 unit used in the D4 and RRS. 180kw and 600Nm (it will probably tweaked for a bit more power) should be good for fairly spritely performance a lighter vehicle. Discovery 4 SE Baltic Blue
Previously D3 SE, D2 Td5

I don't think they don't want to replace it, i was told Land Rover were cought napping, not expecting the LR3+4 to sell well worldwide... So now there's no replacement due/designed inline with the new FF and SS

It looks good overall but I had hoped for better styling. There are a lot of contrived features purely there to disguise its bulk in my opinion and to give it the new family look of the Evoque. It is not a clean design like the L322. Therefore this design will not last the 10 years that the L322 has with only minor styling tweaks. It will require a more extensive facelift at mid life to keep this design fresh. The wrap around lights especially at the back I find to be the worst feature. From the pictures the angle of the rear overhang seems much steeper than before as well which I think looks odd. This is again I guess to disguise the bulk or maybe to improve the departure angle as presumably the longer wheelbase has had a negative effect on this. I also notice that there are no visible exhaust pipes for the supercharged versus the TDV8 and therefore no styling cues anymore to distinguish the two. Doubtless this will be addressed with some expensive and hideous styling pack in the future.

Overall I like it and the weight loss is great and will improve the handling and performance significantly. Therefore deposit down with LPR and the wait begins.
