Did'nt realise there are two door seals (but then it is a RR) so maybe it was'nt as bad as first thought. Still likely to catch the unwary out. It reminded me when I test drove a Disco 2 one fine sunny day a few years back - first time I braked, water came pouring out of the headlining above the passenger seat! Still bought it though.

Yep, my 2004 TD6 does this too on the rear doors. I've had a damned good look, applied a bit of vaseline here and there but it doesn't seem to be caussing any problems. It has been doing it since I bought the car (nearly 2 years ago) and it has not caused any rust anywhere that I can see.

You can cure the water problem at the rear side doors by placing a piece of 50x50mm timber at the bottom of the door opening and closing the door onto it.

Thanks for all your replies, good to hear it is'nt unique to the vehicle I looked at but there are too many other question marks against pursuing the purchase of this one so the quest goes on. |

Quite normal but only happens on those where the door shuts allow water in between the seals. Wet shoes only real problem but realignment may help. |

I have this problem on both rear doors since getting the car 2 1/2 years ago, and heard it could be fixed by a dealer. I was going to ask them the first time i visited, but have managed never to visit a main dealer |

Check the lower drains in the doors, all the doors are made to have water enter at the top, its easier to manage the water then to try and make it waterproof (almost an imposibility when you have a drop window) So, check the lower drain holes are clear...
