Lucky, which fix did you do - the syringe into the Bushes or just the WD 40 Spray?

I've had the squeak for a couple of weeks now and although I have tried spraying WD 40 over all the components in low and high setting it doesn't seem to have cured it.

Might try the Syrine thing but otherwise it looks like it may be new bushes for me Sad African Bush Junkie ... in London!

Update.

The oil stopped the squeak and it then became a clunk lol. I couldn't identify which of the two bushes had gone so did the upper one first, it turned out to be the lower, doh.

Doing the upper was a pig of a job but even with my very limited DIY skills I managed it. I let my trusted local mechanic do the lower, he charged me £164 which included an MOT, and a quick check of fluids and pre-mot inspection.

Squeak and clunk gone. 03 4.4 V8 petrol / lpg. 1st of many hopefully. I love my Rangie

Hi, I used 3 in One oil spray. It comes with a small red tube like WD40. Firstly I jacked the car up and removed the wheel. Then with some needle nose pliers I managed to pull the protective rubber cover back (upper and lower hub bushes) and spray onto the bush.
When finished I sprayed WD40 over the top to give it some protection. Range Rover Autobiography 5.0SC

I have a horrendous squeak/creak from both sides of mine I think coinciding with weather warming up. It squeaks terribly if you bounce on the rear door sill at rest and also when driving, mostly from the rear but also on parking up when the suspension settles there is the most awful creak. I have sprayed all with copper grease then with silicon grease a week later and also filled the ball joint covers with WD40 til is squirted back out at high pressure (used a 20ml syringe and 20G 1" needle if anyone is interested!) all to no avail, the question is does anyone know a good way to identify which bushes or ball joints are to blame as will replace them myself but dont want the car out of action for too long so want to order the bits first. Unless someone can tell me if any of the rear bushes never need replaced and that to do all possible suspects is economic???

Hi Tom,

The squeak comes from the upper and lower hub bushes. You need to remove the wheel to get a good look at them though.
Just a thought. But have you checked the rear drop links? I would check them first as I have just replaced all of mine and the squeak has gone completely. I can't even get it to squeak rocking the car hard. Range Rover Autobiography 5.0SC

Got a bit of an update on this.

I had always assumed it was the bushes causing the squeak but everytime someone looked at them they said that there was no play in them and thus unlikely to be the cause.
I did spray the area with lube and it would go away for a short while then come back.
Yesterday I decided to jack the car up and take the wheels off and really good look round. Low and behold I think I have found the problem! It looks like the handbrake cable outer casing has rubbed away where it goes through the eyelets on both sides.
I am pretty confident that this is the cause of the squeak.
As a cheap fix all I have done is push the rubber casing back through onto itself so the worn bit is no longer there.
I believe it is an expensive job to replace so I will see how this fix works for now. Fingers crossed. Smile Range Rover Autobiography 5.0SC

Handbrake cable is around £30 per side, not too difficult to do

See Wiki for details
