Battery fitted, boy did it take some wiggling to get it in. But all in, connected, turned left right etc and went for a 10 mile test drive and so far all ok, I.e no fault reports. Steve B

Bad news is that no sooner had you left than when I started mine up, I had a message saying "Special programmes off" when I had not touched the TR knob!

Checked the battery voltage this morning & same as you, 11.6v! Off to Euro Car Parts for me too  Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Sorry to hear that mate. Medway are out of stock till early this week even though the site said they had stock. Make sure you call branch first, I ended up going down to tunbridge wells branch yesterday.

The Bosch battery does take a little rocking and rolling to get in. Took me three times of offering up taking out and measuring. Has to be slid in meg terminal low then straightened, then tilted forward a little then pop it's in.

If you need a replacement battery quick & your preferred is OOS then the Varta works well (once you get it in).

I posted on the battery thread about this and getting it to fit but got mine from Tayna for £118 delivered and it's the same spec as Bosch 920cca 110ah 5yr wty.

Had an early start yesterday (5am) so FBH on and also this am and no worries at all

Yes she is a bitch to fit but well worth it. I am having trouble believing that the new battery has sorted my ideal control and reporting of faults. Have driven 35 miles now without a single fault or flicker on the ideal. See how the drive home goes.

It would seems to have fixed the problem. We will see............. Steve B

Fullfats are a little like computers. Stock reply to any fault is try turning it off and on again. Equivalent with a Fullfat = change the battery!

Flat tyre? Have you checked the battery!

Run out of fuel? Check the battery!  Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Knew it was too good to be true......its happened again. Just got back from picking my lad up, got 3/4 mile, slowed for the roundabout a bing bing, all the same fault codes lit up the dash board.

So although the battery was only 11.6v standing, it was not the cause of the fault. I managed to get Sunday to Tuesday and bang, which I was a similar period I was experiencing between fault melt downs before.

I guess it might be the Injection Pump then. Unless anyone has any other ideas

I have been thinking about this fault and it only seems to occur when I lift to slow at junctions, bends and roundabouts, never while accelerating. The idle will normally be lumpy and erratic, sometimes nearly cutting out.

New Battery was fitted two days ago and has NOT sorted the problem. Any ideas?

The garage has told me they still believe that the injection pump has a fault and will be investigating Monday.

So want to love my RR but she is making it difficult. Steve B

Suspension Lowered (Does not actually happen)
Transmission Fault - Limited Gears only
HDC Fault - system not available

I pull over engage the parking brake and then get

PARK BRAKE FAULT (But it works)

Steve, I had a not-dissimilar problem with my petrol V8. I'm halfway between yu & Ivor and nipped over to his to get the Hawkeye hooked up - plenty in there but nothing definitive. Mine went back to the supplying dealer with a few niggling electrical faults, and they told me that (a) they sent the car to a RR specialist called Landmark, not to be confused with the place down at Charing, who are apparently 2 or 3 ex-Lookers techs (I think - is it Lookers in Chelmsford and Brentwood?), and that (b) a number of onboard computers "needed resetting". I couldn't get any more sense than that out of the dealer, but suffice to say that (am I setting myself up for a fall here!) mine has been A1 perfect ever since I got it back several weeks ago. I know that's not hugely helpful, but something to think about. Where are you putting yours into? Ivor recommended a place down near Kingswood - AHL.

I also put a new Bosch S5 battery on mine at the weekend - unrelated to the above, but fitted with no drama or special procedures. I use Motorhouse in Snodland for a lot of bits & pieces and they ordered it in for me.

You need to plug in a diagnostic unit to get a code for the Engine System Fault - but maybe it is the injection system ? The other faults are just simply the daisy chain (or butterfly? ) effect of the comms system on the car .
