My offside HID Xenon is flickering. Is this a symptom of lamp or ballast failure? It's only been doing it a couple weeks and you can hardly notice it.... Certainly not enough to bring up message on dash.

Any help appreciated.

Swap the bulbs over and observe what happens

Mine has been doing this for the past couple of month. It started on the nearside but now alternates from 1 to the other.
I've been planning on getting a new battery as I've had other electrical issues, this being 1 of them.
Hopefully that will sort it out.

chris, check all the connections and then do what paul suggests....if its still flickering with the near side bulb in the it could be ballast failure ... ... - .- -.

I had the same with my offside Xenon, must admit i did not even know i had them until i took the lamp out and looked at it thinking to msyelf this not an ordianry lamp ££££££.

I cleaned up the coonection, put it back and not had the problem,since so worth agao as i think they are about £60 each?

You can get the hid bulbs cheaper if you search around  Reformed

£16 for the pair delivered off ebay....i've had these type [6000k] for about 8 months with no problems.. ... - .- -.

For all of you that have a pre facelift FF, Why dont you buy a cheap cosmetically rubbish lamp off eBay for upto £30 (i buy them all the time for that kind of money) and you will have all the spares if one should start to play up on your car.

The ECU and Ballast are universal for both headlamps as are the bulbs, It can be taken apart at home or given to your indie or even your main stealer to keep parts bills lower... I think an ECU from the stealers is £160+ and the bulbs are £100+

I found it handy when i had one...

I swapped the lamps over as suggested and the flickering seems to have stopped for the moment. I'm guessing it was a dodgy connection, but I did check this previously.
