Did you disconnect the battery whilst removing the steering wheel? |

as per instruction yes I did disconnect the battery. A wise decision I thought as the airbag and wheel electrics were being disconnected |

Could be that the rotary coupler has been damaged when you removed the wheel |

don't think I damaged anything. Was pretty careful and all the connections went back together as they should |

I disconnected the battery and removed a door airbag after waiting a long time before touching it ... the light is now on and I cant reset it via my faultmate diagnostic tool. grrr. V8 or else ... |

It's a garage job, as it's safety related. Any decent garage will be able to reset, unless of course a problem actually exists.

Ive taken 100 steering wheels off without the light coming on afterwards, so i would say you definately have a fault now. Maybe not plugged in correctly.
