Doh. ![]() Soz. My bad (again). Thanks. Seems like it works differently in the FFRR to the Discovery 3 - in my D3, the FBH warms the coolant resulting in more rapid engine warm-up (and potentially easier stating I guess), but is incapable of warming the cabin. Graham, I had the same experience with my old RRS as the fuel burning heater used to just help heat up the engine coolant fluids faster. There were kits available which some of the D3 & RRS boys installed which meant you could call or text your car to start the heater and also the internal fans.

yes, the TDV6 RRS and D3 are the same. I'm probably going to fit one of Pete Bell's kits to control the D3 remotely. Not got the TDV8 yet, but trying to get to grips with the various options...

Think that the pioneers used a kit by danhag(?) but Pete's kit looks very good. Apparently webasto make a kit that you can install to give remote pre/park heat. Seem to remember that when I was looking at these before I replaced the RRS that Pete's kit ticked all the boxes and was also more cost effective. |
