I'm currently having a nightmare with 3 of these cars, all L322, 2x3.0 and a 4.4
This one is the most annoying though:
2004 Black 3.0 TD6 turns over and won't start, we have changed everything on this now,
crank sensor
cam sensor
injector loom 5
the whole ECU kit
HP mechanical pump
checked wiring loom as taking all the bits out
Has 40 MegaPascals of pressure at the rail (400 bar or nearly 6000psi)
280 cranking speed on live data
starts on brake cleaner but only runs whilst getting the whiff
had a noid light in the coil plug and getting signal in all 6
Am now at a loss on what else to change.
It doesn't seem to smole out the exhaust when turning over, and i thought it was a fault on the ecu and not firing the injectors, but its exactly the same with a running cars ecu and stuff.

any ideas?

Have you done a leak test ?

"coils" ??? Do you mean glow plugs or injectors ? .

leak off test done and less than 10ml per injector while cranking quite a few times with metering tubes fitted.
over half a tank of fuel in it
everything is there to make it start and i can't figure out what else to change or do

Had a similar issue with my early (2002) 4.4 M62 V8 Petrol L322.

It cranked, had good fuel pressure at the rail - but wouldn't start no-matter what. Also, no fault codes logged at all.

It would run on Ezy Start, so not ignition related. Although I changed the crank position sensor as a precaution - that didn't help!

It'd been stood a while and the battery had previously gone totally flat, so strongly suspected the issue was related to the BMW immobiliser system stopping the injectors from firing, but letting it crank. This might be where your issue is?

In my case, I never got to the bottom of it, before I sold it for absolute peanuts, as I lost interest and needed the room...

Can't remember but does it have an inertia switch in case of accident which may have tripped...

I had similar issue on my otherwise reliable 2004 TD6, just would not start. ran on ezy start, or wd40, 1st time starting. went back to basics. solved it.
There was petrol in my tank. The garage MUST HAVE mis-fuelled THEIR tank. Had my receipt for diesel, paid diesel price. So, pumped it out, (my petrol mower runs on it now), changed fuel filter, put some DIESEL in it, starts 1st time again. Just a cautionary tale, could it be your fuel?
