Take it to a specialist independent LR expert and not an "ordinary" garage. The former will know these engines much better than a tin pot garage. Where are you located for a recommendation we can give?

Does it do it with a full tank of fuel? It will not do a regen on less than a quarter of a tank, I wonder if it is on the border line of this starting to do a regen than stopping because parameters not right hence fuel smell. 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23

The chirping noise on switch off is probably the EGR self cleaning. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The chirping could be a belt idler pulley or the tensioner if its only a chirp or 2 as the engine stops. |
