OK, last question for today...lol...

I take it these hoses are originals so will probably need changing soon at 11 years old...??

Is there a certainty that they will fail? are they a preventative replacement?

I changed mine for some silicone ones just in case after reading the woes of others.
I bought a 500mm length off Amazon so I could make two sets of four so I've got a spare set just in case!! Think it was about £12.

There was a topic on this yesterday. The 4x "donut" hoses plus the 2x top charge hoses.

It's pretty common for boost and inlet hoses to begin to fail after 10 years so, yes, preventative maintenance and they probably will fail eventually but may also be good for another 5 years.

They're 70mm internal diameter rubber hose. Pirtek will sell a length cheap if you want to replace them (then just cut the sections you need with a long Stanley blade) or just search ebay.

When you have an inlet leak, you'll most likely get 'Restricted performance' come up under acceleration or, the DPF will soot up prematurely and you'll get the 'DPF Full' amber or red message.

You have the original design ones there, genuine replacement set of updated ones from LR is not going to break the bank. They will possibly at some point split, so it’s a good move to swap them to the updated version. Pretty easy job. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

What’s the mileage on your car Pete ?
They have done well to last so long, my first one failed at 43,000 miles., but the modified replacements are still going strong.

Thanks Mike, it's done 135,000 but does look in very well kept condition, I've not had it on a ramp yet but what you can see looks better than some I saw with 1/2 the mileage....

I will give it a full service including all fluids so I will have a chance to evaluate it more....  Pete

Pete, contrary to popular belief the original design of your pipes was flat tubing, then JLR replaced them with your current design before returning to flat pipes albeit with a revised part number...

That explains a lot, cheers, think I'll get some bright green silicone to go with the yellow callipers.....  Pete
