Sounds like the battery is flat. Can you jump start it in it’s current position? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Hi JayGee, the battery seems good. Everything powers up and works. It’s only a few months old.

I’ve put it on charge and it does seem to be drawing strongly through the charger; I had left the rear doors open for some hours yesterday whilst refitting various bits of trim so, fingers crossed, the puddle/ interior lights may have drawn down the battery. Here’s hoping! TDV8 4.4 2012 |

Faulty alternator would throw other faults as the charging system is pretty smart at monitoring itself If it fails it fails with little warning from what I’ve researched. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Why should ‘Sir’ not try jump starting his vehicle as long as ‘Sir’ follows the correct procedure? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Because it is not recommended to jump start any modern Range Rover SIR! They quite enjoy munching ECU’s so, it’s highly recommend to charge not jump the batteries… Sir |

The 2010-12 owners manual has detailed instructions to start from another car or booster pack. If there was a potential danger in this it would state recovery to a manufacturer approved workshop was the the required procedure. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

By what physical / electrical process does jump or battery boost starting damage the ECU if done correctly? If there was an issue and owners were frying ECU’s on a regular basis (flat batteries are hardly uncommon on these vehicles) I’d expect it would be a common topic on the forums? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
