I was under the impression they needed to be mapped out or emulated to avoid the EML. I assume you must still have them electrically connected and they were working before you blanked them?

Hi yes they are still connected and were working fine before blanking. After reading so many egr horror stories thought i would blank them and then get it remapped but there is no need at the minute. All of the posts relating to egr deletes all have had remapping done!

Out of interest, where did you get the blanking kit (is it the ebay one?) and could you write up a few notes? I'd like to get around to blanking mine... 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Hi yes was an ebay delete kit. Take the engine cover off and you can see the short 90 degree bent egr pipes, remove the pipes and fit the supplied blanks. You need to use the supplied bolts as the original bolts are longer and bottom out in the hole without tightening the plates down. I replaced mine when replacing the thermostat housing but im pretty sure it would only take 15mins as all the bolts look pretty accessible. May need a magnetic pickup tool incase you drop a bolt! I wish i took some more photos when i carried out most of the work ive carried out! 2004 td6 l322 - gone

Thanks. I was put off because in the ebay description they talk about having to disconnect looms and move them out of the way and say its not a straightforward job on the TDV8. I also had a look at the EGR replacement howto on here which seemed very involved and so I decided I'd put it off for a bit! 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

a lot of vehicles don't require a delete / remap for blanked EGR's , transit vans for instance , so im not surprised your issue free pal but I still think your missing out by not having a remap |
