Did a guided suspension calibration with my IID tool. Got it to within a few mm but the light was fading so will give it another go today. Already looks like it’s sitting at a better ‘stance’ as the front was 10mm too high. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

After whacking my head a couple of times, recently, have changed out upper tailgate struts. Did the bonnet ones over a year ago. Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)
Galaxy 2001-2007
Mondeo Estate 1997-2001
Sierra Estate 1993-1997
Uno Turbo 1987 -1993
Fiesta 1984 - 1987
Fiat 127 1982 - 1984

Gave the beast yet another coat of polish today while I've got a rare few days off. This time I used X1 PTFE polish, which I find to be excellent. Such a deep gleaming shine.

Took her out in the snow today for the first time since I've had her. There's quite a steep hump back bridge by me and had to wait for 3 other cars to be pushed up it, while mine just breezed straight up and over no problem.

Took westy on longer trip today for second, longer outing (only 40-miles round trip) to see if three fault codes still remain cleared after having them wiped by my new mobile engineer using a LAUNCH PRO 129X - and no codes popped up and nor any dings whatsoever!!! Very Happy Big Cry Very Happy Thumbs Up
Good feeling after living with three codes and dings for three years solid now: hooray!!! Wink
Rye was really Christmas-like today - had cream teas until feeling nauseous, and then carrot cake was washed down with cappuccino - feel really sick now.
Checked oil levels just after returning and all-AOK: dead on MAX...
Will check coolant level tomorrow...
New buddy and hero mobile engineer returning Monday to check on the wee oil burning smell if westy is pushed - oil-cooler already done, and a few other seals and washers or o-rings down there, but he has some ideas that don't sound pricey. Also he will check on any corrosion on chassis, and do a general under-car check.
New starter motor fitted few months back now working a treat - no more clicky-clicky at stop/start...

Thumbs Up

New tow bar guard fitted + new gas struts front and rear. Bonnet was the worst, couldn't trust it to stay up. Not the originals but Stabilus on the front, rears were non branded. £40 for a replacement set from PowerfulUK seemed a good deal.

Oil service carried out yesterday, keeping it on a 6 month changes, doing the work myself means I'm paying about the same as an annual change at an indy. Full engine service kit inc 10L 5W/30 was £140 from Advance Factors. Will be changing the fuel filter, but doubt the pollen or air filter need changing, so those will be saved for future need.

Also sprayed on some Lanoguard to the subframes and chassis rails. Bit like painting the Forth Bridge me thinks...

took my 2011 which I've had for 4 years for its MOT. PASS and NO advisories again. Did have to have a new front left lower arm replaced after hitting a BIG pothole.

Bought with 83,000. Now on 112,000. Not bad for an Ebay car!!

Actually yesterday and the day before drove from Home (SW France) to Dieppe. Car was faultless. Now in UK where, to my chagrin, we are now relocated.

Family requirements dictated a return to UK. Next thing is house hunting in Sussex. Crying or Very sad John
