Scotland 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Tried to open the car with the fob but it wouldn't open. Used the key and put it in the ignition to stop the alarm. Started and drove fine, locked but wouldn't unlock again.

I then remembered that I had dropped the key (a flip key which is quite heavy) on a tiled surface. Opened it and found that the PCB had been dislodged so wasn't lined up with the buttons. Clicked back into place and the jobs a good un Thumbs Up

Had visions of all sorts of problems. Cool John

Stripped out the centre console to get at the ignition switch. Took it to bits, sprayed it with a little WD40, reassembled it all and lo and behold she starts again. I'll do it all again when I get a new one.

Somewhat relieved

I got a software update into my gearbox, (apparently it was showing no version when interrogated)
Now it is as smooth as a very very smooth thing!

Got annoyed at a bellend I was talking to on the phone & pushed in a metal downpipe cover in works car park with the back bumper whilst not paying attention. Only scuffed the paint, got a quote for £135 to paint the affected area, might go & see how much to repaint the whole bumper. Could punch myself in the face for that, what a plonker!

Chuffed and somewhat relieved

Very efficient service carried out by MMP (thanks, Mike!) at home, then she successfully completed the MoT test the next day (with just the usual advisories about engine covers and the front tyres, which I expected - post to follow!) - excellent! Very Happy

Drove 400 mile round trip to Leeds to pick up my daughter from Uni in atrocious weather, straight after flying back from New York last night. Don't think I could have done it in any other car, was really grateful my wife & daughter were in the safety of my Full Fat RR Bow down

Obtained a passenger cup holder and centre console latch from LR breakers a few weeks ago, today was the first dry day when I had time to fit. Cup holder a few minutes, latch longer as I had to find my Torx set first!
Then time to go and get the Christmas tree. On the way stopped at some lights, one of those noisy Corsa things with a drainpipe exhaust, lights changed and wheel spin loads of noise and off it went, next set of light I just glide up. My wife said go on you know you want to, lights change the old girl shoots off with just a bit of a roar from the back. Corsa turn to glide up to the lights, passenger winds his window down, shouts respect!
Of course the wife brings me back down to Earth - have you had your heart tablets today - think I've still got the silly grin on though! Oh then popped into ASDA for some 99.6p petrol.
