Im guessing you have a connector somewhere that isn't sealed tight and could do with a blob of grease around it to keep the stuff at bay. The white spray on stuff is good Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Nothing, it's still tucked up in the garage for over 5 weeks now although I was tempted to take it out today as I had to collect a new door latch for my daughters car, then I spied SWMBO's Mini and took it instead Laughing Laughing

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Cairns Blue

Last week used it to collect ultimate man toy a ride on mower, then had no heating on the coldest week of the year as the FSR. Packed up. I did the decent thing and let the wife have the car this week so she was 'safe' in the ice.
Then spent hour wrestling with FSR yesterday now got double jointed wrist and bad back.
Thumbs Up Mine was a blue one! Smile

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged Supercharged Java Black

Yesterday morning: got shunted in traffic which dislodged a parking sensor and put some paint on my towing eye. He appeared to lose a headlight.

Yesterday evening: removed rear bumper and repaired parking sensor by torchlight.

Left it at home, had to use the wifes car. Big Cry
Used RR the day before with no problem, went to start it today not even a click when I turned the key, voltage dived from 12.6V to 8V.
Hopefully just the battery has failed.
I'll check tomorrow if the rain stops and look for a replacement. Censored

New bonnet catch and cables arrived so I braved the elements of the garage and made a start changing them over. I had ordered 2 catches but for some reason Dan only sent one, so I decided to try and repair the better of the two already fitted.
The catch is made of plastic and metal, held together with 2 bent over tabs and a rivet so I unbent the tabs and took the Dremel to the rivet hoping I could reuse it. Once I had opened the catch up the problem was easily seen, rust on the top plate and crap inside the plastic causing it to jam. I wire brushed the top and bottom plates and gave them a coat of paint, cleaned out the plastic parts and reassembled with a coating of grease, sadly the rivet was not able to be reused so I used a round head bolt and a lock-nut instead and hammered the bottom of the bolt once assembled to ensure it would not work loose. You have to make sure the top of the bolt is lower than the metal plate or it will foul on the slam-panel. When I finished the latches I started changing the 3 cables, I must admit that the two cables under the bonnet were in reasonably good condition but at £6 & £7 each I thought I would change them whilst I was at it. The cable from the inside (common for breaking) could have lasted for a while yet as there were no broken strands, but it was rather bent and distorted so I am glad I changed it when I did. The hardest part of changing this cable was getting the old grommet out.

If you do plan changing the inside cable tie/tape a piece of wire to the old cable in the engine compartment and pull through to the cab, then put the wire onto the new cable and gently pull it back up into the engine compartment.

Just need to take it out for a drive now Laughing Laughing

Today mine went last minute Xmas shopping with me. Lots of big puddles and empty flooded inside lanes made life so much easier and anothe jaunt out tomorrow should loosen the muck that's been on for the last month ready for a good wash.

Also had to take a toolset out of it so I could lift a manhole cover as unblock a friends sewer Sad still stink now but even 10m's of rods didn't clear much and god it must have been backed up for yonks!!! Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
