drove home from Aberdeen (some 400 miles) yesterday which was my Christmas Day due to working away. Car had been Sat for over a week in freezing conditions and started first time with absolutely no issues. That's 1200 miles I have done in my 3 weeks of ownership. The car just ate the miles no problem, I usually drive at the high 80's (at least) in my GTI but found watching the miles range counting down like a seconds timer a little to painful. Decided to plod along at 70 and enjoyed a return of 35MPG which isn't bad for a tank with brick like aerodynamics. All is all a very pleasent drive and the 6/7 hours just flew buy!

Walked up to it, noticed the front right was completely flat.. open the door to get the pump.. was hit by a strong electrical burning smell.. rear water ingress finally finished off the amp I guess |

Drove to Homebase to buy a hacksaw and felt manly buying tools. Then got scolded by SWMBO about not doing the weekly shop so had to pop into Sainsbury's and felt less manly.

Tomorrow I'll be driving to B&Q for a roll of roofing felt to replace the strip that appears to have been ripped off by the strong winds last night! Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Drove it to the dealer to have the rear caliper replaced. They gave me a nice new freelander to play with, it only had 9 miles on it when I picked it up.
