The sockets are permanently live, until the 2010 facelift, then they are not.....ask me how I know 🤣 ask me if I spent best part of £300 on a cool box I can’t really use. 🤣

As above none of the fuses are ignition controlled but running above the fuse board is a thin green wire which is ignition controlled. Depending on what you want to achieve this wire can be used to trigger a relay, the output of which is then ignition controlled. |

I should have said that I’m after an ignition controlled fuse so that I can plug in to a relay, so that the battery isolated when the car isn’t in use.

The simplest and in my opinion the best way to connect a 2nd battery in the rear is by using a cheap voltage sensing relay. Take the live from the big red cable going to the rear fusebox. I would also recommend lifting the loom out of the void to stop any chance of the battery rubbing through any wires. Simple and cheap

Yes - replace the appropriate relay in the passenger fuse panel with a link made with 2 spade terminals and appropriate size wire. |

Hi Oggy, They said to use the fifth fuse along but that's for the rear blower, so they must have been using a latter RR and they haven't gotten back to me when I've emailed them. ![]() |

Their kit is pretty good and does link to the big red cable at the rear fusebox. It has a relay and the negative goes to the body (after clearing away the paint). I did move the loom off of the floor and moved it to the front of the battery so it won't rub. I also used my Dremmel and removed the captive screws the cable ties were on, which means the battery sits nicely on the floor and all the trim panels go back with no problem. Here's a picture of the kit (from someone elses youtube channel)

The VSR in my link goes between the 2nd battery and the fuse box main feed red wire, similar to your pic. When the car is running the 2nd battery gets charged, when you turn off the engine the 2nd battery is isolated. Fully automatic, no chance of forgetting. The beauty of this is that the charging must be over 13.8v before the switch, not 12v or less with a standard relay. Don't forget a meaty resettable fuse, I can't see one in that pic. I have connected my rear 12v socket directly to the 2nd battery having removed it from the loom 2007 TDV8 VSE

So an update on this. I've had Luxury Land Rover Upgrades contact me and they've said that I can splice into the Green cable that goes into the towing connector (white block near the fuse panel on the rear). So I'm assuming that's the same Green cable that was mentioned before.

Apparently there’s no need to add a fuse as he said it’s fused upstream from there already. |
