Just wondering if anyone has any experience of getting the plenum,etc cleaned by a machine using Forte cleaner ?
I have seen it advertised, but am very sceptical.

Anything cleaned when the plenum is attached will be ingested into the engine which is not a good idea .I can't see how any 'vapour' product can clean intake gunk of the type found in the plenum. Unless you want to remove it and manually clean it I'd leave alone and just do regular cleans of the MAP sensor and check the throttle plate for buildup. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I agree totally, and have already done the plenum and throttle body, but seeing just how bad it was, it just makes me wonder about EGR’s , etc, how bunked up they must be, but the last thing I want is for that to get into the oil.

We all saw how bad they can get a couple of weeks ago when an L405 seized due to oil starvation when the sump pickup got blocked.

I change the oil and filter every 6 months and just hope it’s enough to flush out any crud.
Incidentally, I have cut open the old filter element a couple of times but never found any sign of sludge.
