RR SDV8 P0107 fault

Hi all,

Had the dreaded “restricted performance” red light come on a couple of time recently.

Managed to get home then the next day normal again ?

Had it plugged in and the fault P0107 “ absolute pressure in intake manifold - barometric pressure - input low” was logged.

Had no other running issues, but have heard a strange noise coming from the vent on the drivers side under bonnet on the top of the wing that’s feeds the air filter housing ?

If I Rev it, it sucks like mad and makes a strange noise.

I’ve noted the fault only appears under hard driving. General tootling about there’s no issue ?

It’s in at a garage now but hoped the experience on here to help me point out some things to check.

Thanks in advance all !

Sounds like a split inlet manifold or hose. Kev

Hi thanks for your reply.

Would I not hear a suction nose from the manifold if it were split ?

I’ll get the mechanic to check that over but was thinking more of a sensor ?

Is there a tell tale sign to look for with a split manifold ?

Thanks

Pop the engine cover off and have a look at the 4 small rubber inlet pipes for splits Thumbs Up

Thanks again both !

I’ve passed this on to my mechanic to investigate.

I’ll let you know of any findings 🤦‍♂️

One thing I did forget to mention but don’t know if it’s normal, when the restricted warning is on, if I turn engine off, it continues to run for 3/4 seconds before turning off ???

If anyone has any other suggestions I’m more than happy to hear them !

Thank you again 👍

The running-on after switch off is often noticed with both the TDV8/SDV8 4.4 and the TDV6/SDV6 3.0 engines when in restricted performance mode.

MAP sensor. £92 from Land Rover. Things tiny too, you wouldn’t think it could disable a RR !

Just to help others in future. I too have just had a Restricted Performance message on a SDV8. Fault code was P0107-00 MAP sensor. Changed MAP sensor and all good to go. $500+ part in Australia from the dealers but only took 5 minutes to install.

They soon get clogged up, but are usually fine if given a good clean and put back in.
