Smoke test showed big leak on brake vacuum hose where it meets the manifold, So I'll get a visual on that in the next few days (its supposed to be warming up a little) and get one ordered.

Don't think it's worth messing about trying to read what the lambdas are reading, cheap enough to just change both...

Agreed however the cheaper cars I have had on the past have been ok up until say 4000rpm where the mot tester is going up to but can’t cope above so start to stink.

Smoke test it you either have an air leak or most likely a sensors malfunction in the maf or o2 sensors Current stable:

I changed all of that - and there’s a breather I think a circular bit of plastic which was leaking - also and I bet yours has done this - there’s a little pipe that goes between the s/c output plate to the fuel pressure sensor - the pip goes floppy and blows off - another air leak. Also the concertinas between the air coolers and charger plate - both leaking too. Changed all this then it ran rich… then I changed the coils and plugs now it’s all good. Current stable:

I think that I have fixed the P0171 error by resetting the engine adaptations,
