4.4 TDV8 injector codes - help please

I'm getting fault codes for each of the injectors - Cylinder X - Injector data incomplete. All codes start with P26

Seems all injector code information has been lost from the EEPROM. I believe I'm right in thinking I can reload these codes and all should be good? If so - how do I get the codes? Do I have to start removing things from the engine bay to get to the injectors and try to read them? Would the codes be stored anywhere? Any labelling etc. under the bonnet?

Thanks in anticipation

What 'actual' symptoms do you have other than the codes?

Also the screen says....V3 3.6.... wondering if the code reader you are using knows it's looking at a 4.4 ?

Or is that ...3.6... just coincidental? Or is it V33 something ?

. Cheers, Greg

Car starts and idles fine, will drive perfectly OK until any load is applied (anything other than VERY gentle throttle) - car then shows Restricted Performance message. goes into limp mode. I found that switching cruise control on to get the car home at 50mph didn't bring up the fault.
Switch off then back on and no error messages, only when under load (accelerating gently up a hill etc.)

Also found a pending fault code P1247 - low boost pressure, which I think is linked to not having the injector codes stored.

Code reader is just coincidence, it's reading the correct model, engine etc. I think the numbers you refer to are maybe the software version/code

ok - coincidence on the reader.....

P1247 - low boost pressure - and you have RP under throttle.... air leak?
This is the most common fault with these engines. Luckily easy to fix though.
Search 'donut hoses'

As for your injector codes... Maybe?
Can't remember ever reading about that fault here at least.

If possible could you try reading codes with another code reader to cross-check?
Is it fuel in this case? All eight injectors seems odd.
. Cheers, Greg

Your diagnostic tool doesn't recognise the injectors, not that the ECM doesn't recognise the injectors.

Fix the air leak as noted above and forget about looking for white stones.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm new to these cars - would you please clarify that I should be looking for a leak from a loose or split pipe? Where would I find the likely culprits please?

Thank you

A forum search on the fault code P1247 brought up this pertinent post.

Thanks, all - seems I've found the culprit:

Next question - do I need to remove the donut completely to remove the hose? I think I may as well replace all 4 with some silicone hose. Is the bore 70mm? Anything else I need to know to complete the job?

Sorry for all the newbie questions!

They can be replaced without removing the doughnut “plenum”, but you may wish to clean it out a bit at the same time.
The full workshop manual is freely available in the Wiki, with a full PDF describing the procedure.

clean as much as you can as Mike says, consider doing the throttle body too.

glad you found it. Thumbs Up

9/10 times RP on these engines is caused by air leaks. They run at quite high boost.

Thanks for all the help, it's really appreciated.

I'm just back from picking up some silicone hose and new jubilee clips. If one hose is split I'd rather do some preventative maintenance and replace all 4. Just one OEM hose costs around £35. I've just bought half a metre of Mocal hose and 8 decent quality jubilee clips for £28.82.

I shall start on the repair this evening.
