instrument menu button

Trying to activate the menu button on the instrument panel , the manual says just press for a 3-5 secs but not happening. The only thing that may be stopping it working could be that a message is trying to tell me I have a trans safe failure would this interfere with normal operations.

Instrument info button will not work, the button on the end of the stalk. Reading the manual you select it to operate from the screen menu but remote doesn’t appear on it , I have seen this work before but for the life of me it doesn’t follow from the book.
Thanks for replying

I’m pretty sure you have to press one of the 2 buttons on the instrument cluster to clear it first.

One resets the trip....it’s the other button.....

From memory anyway.....

I haven't got the handbook to hand but you can programme what the button shows - time, date, consumption etc. Could it be that the programming on your button has been wiped and needs to be reset?

IIRC it is programmed via the set up menu. John

You need to clear the warning message before any info comes up.....then take it from there.

Nothing to aid reset on main centre screen?

I’m a bit lost now.

You mean reset average fuel consumption etc?

Apologies if I’m being thick.... just that the warning on instrument cluster is separate from main centre scree.

Ah, I think I see what you mean now.

Just as an observation, looks like you have BMW firmware on there, so prob have Mk 4 DVD sat nav.

Operation should be mostly similar though. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

yes changed the DVD to digital , but that shouldn't interfere with the info on instrument screen? Any ideas.

Just had a thought , I have been in the GAP IID Tool lately , mainly to sort out the Transfer box problem , I noticed I could' nt alter things in the the CCF files. I am wandering if I have disabled anything in there.
