No, a trusted and very good local'ish garage are doing it. I would have used a Landrover specialist but both Rockingham Landrover and Farriers couldn't get me in until mid to late January!! See how these guys get on, if they can't find the issue then I may just have to wait until next month :/

Ok in the form of an update. Took the car to the garage today to get the Starter Replaced. They are also going to look into this dash warning.

So started car this morning, as soon as it started the Restricted Dash Warning come up. Whilst say ticking over I cleared All Faults with my GAP tool, warning immediately come back. Tried few times, same thing. Reversed off drive, drove up the road, cleared as I went, this time stayed off for about a minute. I repeated this, each time the gap before it came back on grew. So looks like it may be related to the car being warmed up or not?

Still seems strange that when I clear the faults, it goes away, but the only fault it is showing is the EGR Temp Sensor fault that I have been re-assured would not cause a Restricted Performance warning. So what is it clearing to clear the dash warning?

Anyway, the garage recommends fixing known issues first, so they've ordered a replacement sensor and are going to fit it on Monday. I know it is unlikely to fix my main Restricted Performance Issue but I need to get this done at some point why not. So then they'll do a smoke test to see if there is a leak, failing that no doubt it will be a trip to a specialist who will hopefully be able to get a fault code out of it.

Oh and at the same time turns out my slow puncture can't be repaired so need a new tyre, also the rear pads are down to 1mm so need to get that done too. The bills are stacking up already! Big Cry

Post up the code(s)....

I think it's a DPF full RED which you can't clear with an IID Tool.

Ask your garage to do can do a DPF regeneration first.

If changing the sensor, make sure you or they know which one it is otherwise another rabbit hole approaching. Tell them it's the one in the NS exhaust manifold. If they don't believe you then get your keys back.

They might be fine, but many have fallen into this trap. It's only through a long process with help that we worked out the real cause of that error code.

Follow my guide and you'll / they'll be fine.

Reminder to post up the code(s)....
. Cheers, Greg

It's this code:

Discussed here. https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic53866.html

You can see, unlike other people who seem to report it staying at 100 degrees, mine does the opposite and spikes to over 900 degrees for like a second at a time...

Tried reading fault codes both with the warning up and not, no difference, that one is the only one that shows up. And my warning goes away when I Clear the codes

Weird.

Ok let’s find out another way - what’s your soot grams level?

Measured it just when I left the garage, said 20.2g

I have done a number of long'ish journies over the last few weeks. Only had the car 3 weeks though so not sure on the use before me. I haven't noticed it do a regen since I've had it, but not sure how I would know it was doing it? I've done 500 miles since I've had it, assume it must have done one by now?

You CAN clear a red dpf with IID. I did on mine.

Can you give your oil dilution reading on the IID? I think this can affect the regen process. I changed my oil and filter and alll good since. Thumbs Up

I don't have a red DPF warning, I have a red Restricted Performance warning with the only fault code being the one above Confused

You defo need to track down any potential intake leaks with smoke test and go from there....
Have you swapped out them 4 flimsy hoses yet? Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I'm going to let them do the smoke test and then ask them to swap those hoses over. I've put my new Samco ones in the boot so they have them there.

I had a RP after the new secondary turbo was changed recently. They forgot to replace a vacuum hose. All fine one connected.
I doubt that is your cause but ask them to check all turbo vacuum hoses when it's being smoke tested. Don't get side tracked by this suggestion. Chase all potential intake leaks first.... Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Yep you're DPF is fine Mark.

As mentioned you probably still have the original air leak.

Once I changed my air filters, forgot to plug the sensor back in and got a restricted.

Restricteds are Censored without an error code.

Can you pls recap, you took off the main intake hose where you found soot and then I remember you broke the coolant hose. Did you replace the four intake hoses?

Tell us more including anything the garage ddi.

Also we're speaking across a few threads now, suggest keep the conversation here.

Dolphinboy - that's news to me, are you using the updated software or even a beta perhaps?

. Cheers, Greg

Not changed those hoses yet, after I snapped that water hose I got scared and put it all back together, making the decision to leave it to the professionals.

Once the garage have changed that sensor and confirmed the RP warning is still there, they'll do a smoke test, hopefully identifying an easy to sort leak somewhere. Regardless of where that leak is I'll ask them to replace those 4 hose / connectors with my nice new Samco ones that I've left in the car for them.

The garage put their reader on it and it didn't show any fault codes either (aside from the EGR one above) So if the smoke test doesn't show up an obvious cause, then I'll have to book it in with specialist with a LR diagnostic tool, hopefully that'll show a code. After all, there must be a fault somewhere for the car to recognise to put it into RP?
