2016 4.4 AB advice needed | |
I recently took delivery of a just over 3 year old AB which is my first ever Range Rover and I love it, however I've had a few issues which have tainted the experience so far.
Very soon after delivery I noticed that the front suspension was knocking and there was a shuddering from the rear when pulling away from a junction at an angle. Having read the forum they're not uncommon issues so I booked it in to my local dealer to be fixed but after taking it in for a day the local dealer said that as i'd only just purchased the car it would need to go back to the supplying dealer, as I guess that some of the issues may not be covered under the approved used warranty. Why they couldn't tell me that when I booked it in I've no idea!!
So after taking it to the supplying dealer and them having it for around 10 days everything was fixed, however on the drive home late on Friday night I got a warning message to say there was a diesel exhaust fluid malfunction with a 500 mile countdown to a no engine start!
I called LR assist yesterday and they were brilliant, they arrived within the hour and spent the next 90 minutes trying to fix it but unfortunately he wasn't able to and it needs to go in to my local dealer to be fixed, might need a new pump apparently. The LR assist guy did say he'd never seen this fault on the 4.4 before although it's quite common on the 2.0 diesel.
So I'm going to be without my car for another few days whilst is being fixed and whilst Enterprise car rental will be giving me a hire car it still means that my car has been in the garage for longer than I've owned it....
Whilst I'm just outside the 30 day limit for rejecting the car my understanding is the clock stops ticking whilst it's in for repair so I guess that's still an option.
My question is what would you do? Reject this one (if that's still an option) or stick with it and hopefully enjoy the car once this latest issue is resolved?
