Poland 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

[quote="Weegie"]An update on mine. As stated before, I fitted the system when it arrived in November but it was unusable as the audio was severely distorted. /quote]

Is the sound problem like? A buzzer sound in speakers when U make vol+? It sounds like the RCA/jack cables are not plugged correctly.

No it was a complete distortion at any volume level. A faulty unit. John

I'm using android (Samsung). Everything worked and now is not.
I tried with short Samsung usb cable and nothing.
It's strange it worked and now it doesn't.

I haven't tested this but I wonder if you set your phone screen to shut down after a set time - 2 or 3 minutes say - would that shut down the link to the system? Just a thought.

As I said, I haven't tried it yet. John

You access through the nav button and then it's touch screen. You use the nav button to toggle between the car's original system and the Navtool one.

It's all in Navtool video posted on the first page of this thread.

I messaged Navtool support yesterday - it's really frustrating how you ask them 3 questions and they only ever seem to answer the last part. Anyway... after 3 attempts they said that for the 2010-12 model cars it's not a touch screen interface and you have to use a remote. They also said installation is behind the head unit for the 2010-12 and not in the boot.

I also asked about wireless CarPlay and they said that's an extra $5000!!!!

The remote though really puts me off. Seems very odd that the 05-09 touch screen works but the later one doesn't. There's always the possibility the person I was messaging with was wrong....

$5000?? how and why??

I hope your issues are isolated ones as I am looking to get this unit as well BUT im not confident considering the lack of tech support, or so it seems. Nonetheless Good Luck!

It was all resolved with a replacement unit. Very pleased with the system.

Not $5000

I think the $5000 is their way of putting people off asking about wireless CarPlay. I bet if you offered them $50,000 they couldn't actually deliver wireless CarPlay.

As I don't have an AUX in the centre console of my 2005 Vogue, am I going to regret buying one of these?

You won't get the audio as it plays through the AUX.

Have looked at the Navtool website and if you have ordered the 2003-2004 it may be that there is a differemce in the interface which does not require AUX. John

I’d get another phone is mirror link is the only option available. Very few apps are mirror link compatible. It was a nice idea but too late with two dominant players like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Fair point Sygic is still blocked for Android Auto. Apparently it is allowed on Apple iOS CarPlay.
