United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

There is a re bedding/balancing procedure which is probably worth following as well (well there was on my 07 when I did that) as it makes sure they are adjusted correctly after reinstalling. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I have been refurbing my rear brakes this week, think I have a sticky caliper on the RHS, pads worn down to the metal near enough, and a vibration when hitting 70. A few photos and tips:

Safety First

State of RHS pads

Outside not too bad

Inside a bit mucky

Kurusting

New Shoes
Suggest fit cable adjuster, then shoes and refit the pins to hold in place, along with the lower adjuster. then fit the springs, using suitable levers and/or string/wire

All back together
I used Hammerite smooth black and silver for all the parts, see how that copes with the heat...

Now off to carry out the bedding in procedure Wink .

Be interested to know how you get on with bedding-in. When I tried it never seemed to exit correctly. EPB seems okay but not as good as it could be. I should have another go at it but it's such a Censored to find a suitable bit of road... 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Since my RR is an automatic, what's the point of the EPB.

Like previous automatics I have owned, the handbrake is only used for the MoT test!!

Sorry, I forgot to add that I used the "pull fuse 36" method to disable the EPB. Given it took @ three days with real world issues and paint drying meant I could lock the car up at night (not that anyone would have had much fun trying to steal it with no wheels or brakes) Thumbs Up .

Thumbs Up

Just out off interest, how does it indicate successful completion of the test? (It was a while ago I attempted it). 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Not sure if it does...tbh I lost count so not sure if I did less than or more than 10 Embarassed
You just have to cycle the ignition when finished, otherwise it stays in test cycle.

What the procedure doesn't tell you is to hold the button in the "ON" position until the car comes to a stop.
Going down a hill, this can take some time Thumbs Up
And remembering that your stop lights are not coming on ?! (Although I couldn't see if they were....) .

Ah, maybe mine did complete successfully then. I was sure that on the Disco there was some sort of indication of success. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate
