I have been refurbing my rear brakes this week, think I have a sticky caliper on the RHS, pads worn down to the metal near enough, and a vibration when hitting 70. A few photos and tips:
State of RHS pads
Outside not too bad
Inside a bit mucky
Kurusting
New Shoes Suggest fit cable adjuster, then shoes and refit the pins to hold in place, along with the lower adjuster. then fit the springs, using suitable levers and/or string/wire
All back together I used Hammerite smooth black and silver for all the parts, see how that copes with the heat...
Now off to carry out the bedding in procedure ![]() Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember ![]() Volvo V70 P2 2006 2.4 Petrol 170bhp Estate SE MG Midget Mk1 1962 Previous: L322 Range Rover TDV8 3.6 2008; L322 Range Rover TD6 3.0 2002; P38A Range Rover V8 1999 |

Thanks all and Joe for the pictures. Guess I will take the negative battery cable off to be on the safe side.

Sorry, I forgot to add that I used the "pull fuse 36" method to disable the EPB. Given it took @ three days with real world issues and paint drying meant I could lock the car up at night (not that anyone would have had much fun trying to steal it with no wheels or brakes) |
