Hi all,

Just wanted to check something with you before I order a new part, got a feeling I'm missing something.

As I've closed the tailgate earlier today, the right hand reversing light cover has fallen away, just leaving the exposed reflector/bulb behind. I've gone to reattach it, but there don't seem to be any parts that click or slot together, leading me to think that it's meant to be a complete unit, and I may need to replace it all. Am I missing something here, or does the whole light need to be replaced?

Yep.

Mine dropped off in the car wash once. I stuck it back on with some mitre fix superglue and activator. As good as new and you can’t see the Adesive. Go buy some, dead useful for loads of stuff and save yourself a fair bit on a new reversing lamp. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

For info, the lens cover should have a tab at the bottom that slots into a hole, and it should be held at the top with a philips screw (bolt) into a plastic fixing.

Probably the top locating ring in the lens has broken off, or the tab at the bottom. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

Joe, I think the OP had just the lens cap fall off, not the whole unit fall out  Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I had this same problem a few weeks back and can confirm the silicone does work. While they’re off it gives you a chance to give them a good clean inside before you stick them on
