Have you connected the CTEK and pressed the mode button to car? The croc clips sometimes don't make a good connection, you are better to hard wire the quick release connector to the battery. If the battery is completely flat it may take a few days for it to come back up.

Checked the Ctek and its working fine on every thing except the RR. As for the alternator ,the car has died while it was sitting in the garage , for the last two weeks. Alternator????????????????? Plus what is this HAVEC thing i see mentioned by LPR on another battery thread? |

You need to try and find the drain, the easiest way to do this is with one of these gadgets:

Anyone should be able to read a multimeter. This is a man-skill and if you dont have it, shame on you. |

Iam sorry but i dont have one! Any way reading about this Hevac thing, this does not seem to be why my battery should go dead while the car has been sitting in the garage right.

Maybe you should go buy one, you can add it to your toolbox. They are useful to have and cost under £10 for a cheap one. The FSR can cause your fan to stay on, even so slow you cant hear or feel it. This will obviously discharge your battery. Either way, this can be verified by checking the current draw. |

Looks like the battery is still losesing charge when the car sits in the garage. Takes about three days to drain it.Could it still be this FSR thing even though the heater fan works as normal and i can not hear a thing when the cars in the garage and off ???? |

Have you measured the drain yet? Surely you've got to be willing to do some of the diagnosis work for yourself rather than just leaving it for everyone else to tell you whats wrong. And even when it's been suggested that the FSR is to blame you seem to be second guesing this tried and tested knowledge? |

Dan not so easy as the garage who done the battery is going to look at it and they do know about this FSR ,but told me to try it for a few days before they replace it. Not so easy because at the minute i am in Italy with the car, so i am just getting as much info from you guys so i now if they are going the right way! Hope this explains why i ask again about this! |

I wouldnt let anyone other than a LR delatership touch it in Italy. They have an interesting idea on how car electronics should work. Mainly not, if my Fiat was anything to go by.

Ok got the RR back yesterday. Its had a new FSR fitted plus another new battery, just in case. Put the C-Tek on it last night and it will not stay green exactly like before, a bit early but i think its still draining. My C-Tek work perfectly and the slightest problem will upset it. dan what do you think????? What should i check next? |

If the green light of the C-Tek isn't staying on there is something draining the battery. You need to find out what is staying on to cause the drain |
