It’s not as bad as I’m making it sound, I can’t remember the details but following the excellent write up on here I found it very straightforward |

You can fit the brackets without the step treads on

Indeed I fitted mine with them retracted and with the steps still in place. The awkwardness was on the drivers side, but because of the cylinder in the way of getting a spanner on the bolt heads not the steps themselves.

Yes I shall endeavour to fit without deploying - don't really have much choice atm.

It would seem most likely that they are switched off indeed! Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

When my old steps weren't working, they gave every sign of being "dead" rather than just switched off as the light on the switch didn't flash when doing the on or off routine. For some reason (and before I swapped to the new steps) the switch suddenly did work and do its two or three flashes as it says it will in the book - but this was after a dozen or more attempts over several days. I've no idea what changed, but they work now and I can switch on or off at will. If your telltale flashes its a different problem, but if not, keep trying! Mike - MPx

As for you; no led indications to say anything is happening...

Okay so they are now fitted and working perfectly. They were 'switched off'. Following the manual (RTFM) I was able to switch them on first attempt |

Well done! I'm guessing you no longer want my old steps? I did measure up the parcel eventually |

Yeah after I looked up the price of the harness and control module, it was only a wee bit dearer just to get a brand new set so just went for it. £390 delivered for a genuine set |

If I pay you can you come and do mine? Lol I’m partially sighted and have no chance. James. |
