MT/Rs are quite a bit noisier than Duratracs, though I have heard that Duratracs can get noisier with wear. Duratracs are better on ice and hard snow, wet roads and on braking distances. MT/Rs have harder sidewalls and harder compound, so better for rocky ground and running deflated. MT/Rs are a bit better off road, the Duratracs can twitch at the back when transiting on to soft ground, but that is perhaps a RR trait, I have not driven a Discovery with either. I find the Duratrac a much better all round tyre. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Remember that scene from Alan Partridge where he rings Susan on reception and says;

"I was a bit bored, so I dismantled my Corby trouser press, will that appear on my bill?"

Well. I was a bit like that yesterday.

I took the headlights off so that I could try to de-tango them and end up with a more modern clear light look. The problem is these are sealed units and you need to stick the, in the oven or use a heat gun and have a big cup of bravery beforehand.

Once they split apart (reminded me of the gooey egg opening scene from Alien) you just know it's too late to go back. Luckily I'm awesome and it all went very well!










The end result looks like this. Once the chromed Amber bulbs arrive I can refit it all.

Finally, the chromed amber repeater bulbs arrived so I quickly installed them in the headlamps and refitted the outer brackets and put it all back in the car, about 15 minutes work overall.

Looks so much nicer. If you are thinking about this mod, just do it, there's not much to go wrong if at all.

Very nicely done, the lights look really nice and it gives the car a nice clean look.

Now you have to do the same to the FFRR I guess  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

The tyres arrived form Oponeo (originally came out of Hamburg) and they fit easily in the capacious boot of the Discovery - You can't do this with a Range Rover.




They are being built up today so I should have them back by tonight to fit over the bank holiday weekend. Discovery 4 HSE

Got the wheels back and couldn't wait to fit them. Put the spacers on that are needed for these RR alloys but WOW, they look SO good in the flesh. I don't think these photos out across how great they look. So chuffed.
