No he didn't he got an adjustable one for £12.95

Half way down the page http://www.bbclassics.co.uk/electrical-accessories.html[/quote]

I think they sell those on eBay though if you want one... I still say you really need an adjustable one... every engine likes to run at different temps.... they never seem to be "just" right.... Pete

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Java Black

"Does anyone know the safe operating range of a TD6?"
Monitored our motor on the motorway and town driving last week, as well as checking auto box oil temp.
Motorway at a steady 70mph ish was 87 degrees. Climbed no higher than 91 degrees on the back B roads pushing it as I was in a hurry.
Monitored with my IID tool and 'phone sat in front of the sat nav.
The TD6 runs miles cooler than the 4.4. One I checked on a test run recently never dropped below 92, It would average around 98 and at times went to 105 degrees. A bit too hot for my liking, but they are designed that way.

This is about the cheapest electronic unit that I found, but I would recommend doing a search as you may find one cheaper Thumbs Up

Used them on loads of cars, never had one leak, two jubilee clips, that are the correct size, side by side and a smear of non setting instant gasket or silicon and Roberts your Mothers Brother.... Thumbs Up

If that one is adjustable then great... mine is a Kenlow because it came off another car and I had it in stock but usually I just get the cheapest, they are very reliable, never had one fail yet.... Pete

Shocked Shocked I thought that you preached the use of a kenlowe condom, to avoid any little spills and mishaps that can result, Pete, I'm shocked, I didn't have you down as a quick smear in the back of the shed, type of guy Shocked Shocked

And the Revotec is adjustable, but how accurate that tiny little pot is, is anybody's guess. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

It is a wee bit expensive, and like ironhorse, I am not totally convinced that the slip it down the side of the hose and hope method is the best. However, unlike ironhorse, I am prepared to give the "back shed engineering" solution a try as it's about a third of the price, and if it was a total waist of time the internet would be full of moans! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Kenlowe has been around for longer than me and it's worked fine for generations of petrol heads...

As with most of these things it's down to how you do it, faults and failures are usually down to poor fitting.... Thumbs Up

When I moved to Yorkshire years ago the "tight yorkshire man" rubbed off on me... Rolling with laughter

Ironhorse... thats 1 1/2 tankfulls of LPG for me.... Shocked Shocked Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Pete

United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Alveston Red

Hi Folks
Out of interest has anyone else fitted a Kenlowe fan. I've had one fitted since 2012 and it works fine only problem is I fitted it with cable ties through the radiator which works fine except when I have to take it off, means removing bumper, ac fan etc to get the the ties. Just wondering if anyone has a better solution for mounting them. Thinking about mounting it on to the old plastic cover just not sure it'll be strong enough?? Do I really have time to tinker with one of these
